Searcy Public LibraryThe Searcy Public Library, headquarters library of the White County Library System, is located in Spring Park in downtown Searcy. The facility includes a large children's area that provides specific children's programs, a children's library and cooperative programs with schools throughout White County. The library also has adult volumes, periodicals, videos, and books on tape, both fiction and nonfiction, suited to entertain, inform, and educate library patrons. Current research materials are available to all patrons and an on-staff reference librarian is there to help research any subject for any age group in-house and through inter-library loans. The Arkansas and Genealogy departments receive heavy use. The Searcy library has internet stations available for all patrons and a fully computerized card catalog system. Through the Internet, users have access to a variety of databases meeting informational needs in areas of health, law, government, the sciences, arts, education, and entertainment. Other counties in which the Gateway card is honored are Pulaski, Jefferson, Perry, Faulkner, Pope, Arkansas, Cleveland, Dallas, Conway, Grant, Hot Spring, Lonoke, Prairie, Saline, and Van Buren.
